March 11-15, 2024, CCEF Monitoring Team together with DENR 7 and a PeaceCorp volunteer, embarked on a Technical Biophysical Assessment of the identified Special Protection Areas (SPAs) within Danajon Bank. The assessment will cover the remaining nine (9) identified coral reef monitoring sites of the Danajon Bank outer reef. Assessment on corals, reef fish, and invertebrates has been conducted. Target activities include dive surveys, manta tow, drone imaging, spatial mapping for MPA connectivity mapping.
To determine the coastal habitat resources condition of the selected Special Protection Areas (SPAs) in terms of:
a. Percentage cover of live hard corals
b. Abundance and diversity of macroinvertebrates
c. Biomass, density, and diversity of reef fishes
Also, to delineate the coastal habitat resources and map out MPA Connectivity. Lastly, the Material content for CEPA and Promotional videos.
