LEAR Philippines Engineering Branch has been working with Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation, Inc. in a collaborative mangrove growing and various coastal cleanups during the recent years.
Since LEAR’s adoption of the Brgy. Biasong Mangrove Site through the Project Mangrove Management Optimization for a Resilient Ecosystems MORE, in partnership with the Biasong Active Women’s Association (BWA) and the BLGU Biasong, the firm seeks to extend their mangrove growing and conservation efforts to Brgy. Mr. Yosoya emphasized the necessity for a mangrove recovery effort in the area. Similar thoughts were stated by Mr. Buot, who agreed to adopt the region for a mangrove rehabilitation program. The proposed Mangrove Rehabilitation Program aims to: (1) Rehabilitate the Mangrove Area; (2) Strengthen of Eco-governance Strategies of MLGU Liloan in terms of Mangrove Wise Conservation and Management for Cotcot Mangrove Diversity; and (3) Incorporate Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign for environmental awareness, visibility, and mainstreaming. The said rehabilitation program will continue on the month of November, and will have a project operation span of 4 months.
