The Bohol Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef Management Council gathered for its quarterly meeting

February 2, 2024, Tagbilaran City, Bohol – The 𝗕𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗕𝗗𝗕𝗗𝗕𝗥𝗠𝗖) gathered for its 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 at CPG Hall, Bohol Provincial Capitol. In attendance were the distinguished council member mayors who lent their time to the discussions: Hon. Dave Duallo of Buenavista, Hon. Fernando Estavilla of Pitogo, Hon. Eugeniano Ibarra of Clarin, Hon. Constantino Reyes of Ubay, Hon. Roberto C. Cajes of Trinidad, and Hon. William R. Jao of Tubigon.

Also in attendance were the representatives from Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7, DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Talibon and Tagbilaran, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Region 7, Bohol Island State University – Candijay Campus faculty staff, along with several Municipal Agriculturists and Municipal Environmental Officers from their respective local government units.

The agenda encompassed various important discussions. Central to the meeting were the presentation of the Protected Area Suitability Assessment (PASA) Report of the Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef. The council discussed as well on endorsing the PASA report for the legislation of DBDBR, finalizing and approving the Bohol Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef Management Council (BDBDBRMC) logo and providing updates on the CCEF Protect Danajon Project funded under USAID/GRF.

The CCEF provides facilitation support for council meetings and contribute its expertise in advancing the objectives of the Bohol Danajon Bank Double Barrier Reef Management Council. This commitment is particularly evident in its efforts to guarantee the strengthened management and heightened conservation efforts for this crucial marine ecosystem.
