On April 29, 2025, the LEAR Philippines Engineering Branch supported the Poblacion Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Poblacion, Alcoy, as part of CCEF’s “Adopt an MPA” program.
LEAR donated MPA enforcement equipment and marker buoys and organized an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity for the children of Poblacion, Alcoy. This aimed at enhancing support for the enforcement efforts at the Poblacion, MPA.
Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) play a crucial role in conserving marine life, restoring fish stocks, and safeguarding habitats such as coral reefs and mangroves. They promote sustainable fisheries, enhance coastal resilience, and create opportunities for eco-tourism livelihoods, ensuring the long-term health of oceans for future generations.
