



On May 16, 2025, the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation (CCEF) participated in the second meeting of the Technical Working Group in preparation for the upcoming debris removal activity scheduled for May 21-13, 2025, at Casay Reef.
The meeting was held at Cebu Beach Club in Casay, Argao, Cebu, and was attended by representatives from the fisherfolk, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Casay, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMO) of Argao and Dalaguete, Bantay Dagat (Argao and Dalaguete), the Philippine Coast Guard (Argao and Dalaguete), CENRO Argao, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Natural Resources (BFAR).
Casay Reef is affected by drifting rope debris from an aquaculture project. Due to its size and impact on marine life, the Barangay Local Government Unit of Casay has expressed willingness to collaborate to resolve the issue.
