Sharpening Minds for Impact: CCEF Attends Masterclass on Strategic Thinking and Decision-Making

June 20-21, 2025, Cebu City – CCEF took part in the “Think. Solve. Decide. Masterclass in Thinking and Decision Skills,” a transformative two-day learning event organized by Kaabag sa Sugbo, held at the Pagtambayayong Conference Room in Cebu City.

The masterclass was facilitated by Dr. Benjamin Bagadion, Jr., a renowned development management expert and associate professor at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM). With decades of experience in leadership, governance, and institutional reform, Dr. Bagadion shared invaluable frameworks and tools for navigating complex decisions in today’s volatile landscape.

The training gathered members of Kaabag sa Sugbo and civil society professionals for a deep dive into leadership and decision-making skills. Day 1 explored the theme “Think for Strategic Action” through activities such as problem tree analysis, stakeholder analysis, and the construction of a logical framework (log frame). Participants were guided to break down systemic challenges and map realistic pathways for solutions.

Day 2 transitioned into “Strategic Mindset and Inner Leadership,” featuring sessions on negotiation and conflict resolution, cultivating a strategic mindset, and even meditation as a foundational practice for centered and mindful leadership. The emphasis on both technical skills and internal clarity underscored the holistic approach needed in today’s development work.

CCEF is honored to be part of this learning journey and remains committed to applying these insights in our work toward resilient coastal communities and effective marine conservation.
