September 27, 2024, Cebu City – The Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation (CCEF) was honored to be one of the exhibitors at the 1st Central Visayas Volunteerism Exhibit 2024, held at SM Seaside Cebu in celebration of Regional Development Council (RDC) Week. With the theme “Para sa siete ta, volunteer na!”. The event highlighted volunteerism in various sectors, including environment, tourism, education, and health. This exhibit showcased the importance of community involvement across different fields, providing a platform for organizations to promote their advocacies and volunteer programs.

For CCEF, the exhibit provided a platform to highlight its core work in marine conservation, coastal resource management, and environmental education. CCEF’s efforts focus on protecting marine biodiversity, empowering coastal communities, and fostering sustainable practices to ensure the longevity of the Philippines’ coastal ecosystems. The exhibit served as a meaningful avenue for an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity, particularly for the large number of students in attendance. It allowed CCEF to inspire the younger generation to take part in volunteer efforts, underscoring the importance of protecting marine and coastal environments. The event also allowed CCEF to reach out to potential volunteers, inviting them to participate in its ongoing programs aimed at creating lasting impacts on both our marine environment and local communities.
