Mortifying sustainability in the blue economy, Project Mangrove On the Move (MOM) has its Financial Literacy Seminar last November 30, 2023 in Purok Bakhaw Center, Sulima, Cotcot, Liloan, Cebu, Philippines.
The main objective of the said training was to cement strategic systems in terms of handling the financial resources of the Purok Bakhaw Women’s Organization(PBWO). The PBWO as the lone Civil Society Organization(CSO) managing the mangrove plantation/s in the area must be capacitated on areas likes: (1) sustainable wise management of mangrove programs through their production of mangrove saplings and/or propagules; (2) easier tracking system of organizational income as well as cash inflow and outflow; (3) establishment of effective mechanism for funding.
The said intervention on financial literacy was just an offshoot of the number of activities to be conducted in their coastal areas. Project MOM held out an expectation in supporting the upcoming activities of PBWO.
The training was attended by twenty-one (21) CSO members with the hope for sustaining their blue economy ventures anchored on wise mangrove management.
